Enrique García Atralla

He works as a journalist (Diario SUR, La Opinión de Málaga and Diario 16) and has been a professor at EADE University of Wales, Schooltraining Film School, Studio Atralla, Utalent School of Performing Arts (Estepona) or School of Theater and Film from Malaga.

In the press, he worked as cartoonist, caricaturist, graphic designer, layout designer, and even workshop coordinator at La Opinión de Málaga for ten years. He was part of the founding team.

He has been awarded as a film director with the feature films 321 días en Míchigan (2014), Resort Paraíso (2017), Maniac Tales (2017) and La Mancha Negra (2021). Winner of the Biznaga de Plata and the Best New Director award at the ASECAN awards (the Andalusian film awards). His previous career as a short filmmaker stands out with titles such as TR3S RAZONES (short film shot at the Malaga Penitentiary Center in Alhaurín de la Torre), Napoleon, La Muerte en un Bolsillo, Yalecu o Samsa (adaptation of Kafka’s The Metamorphosis). With these titles he won four RTVA awards, five awards from the Malaga Film Festival and more than 80 national and international awards.

Recently, it won the prestigious LORCA Award from the Granada International Film Festival for Best Andalusian Short Film 2022 for Yalecu.

Currently, he directs his own teaching project in Malaga: STUDIO ATRALLA, a school where he writes and directs the students’ work.

In 2023 he obtained the Gold Medal from the Malacitana Academy of Arts and Letters.

Two of his feature films have been awarded at the Calella Film Festival: Resort Paraíso won the Best Actress award in 2018 for Virginia DeMorata and in 2021 he won the Best Director award for La Mancha Negra.
