Una mujer italiana
Francesca Cabrini is an Italian immigrant who arrives in New York City in 1889 and is greeted by disease, crime and impoverished children. Cabrini embarks on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to guarantee housing and medical care for society’s most vulnerable. With broken English and poor health, Cabrini uses her entrepreneurial mindset to build an empire of hope the likes of which the world has never seen before.
AN ITALIAN WOMAN (CABRINI), the new film directed by Alejandro Monteverde (‘Sound of Freedom’, ‘Little Boy’, ‘Bella’), stars Cristiana Dell‘ Anna (’Here I Laugh‘, “To Tuscany”, TV series “Gomorrah”) as Francesca Cabrini, alongside two-time Oscar nominee and Emmy winner John Lithgow (’The World According to Garp’, “The Moon Killers”, “Interstellar”). The film is based on true events.
