Jordi Frades
The director and producer Jordi Frades is responsible for the contents of Diagonal TV, the company of the EndemolShine Iberia group, led by Jaume Banacolocha. On May 2018 he premiered his last television series as director: La catedral del Mar based on the literary success of Ildefonso Falcones, the book set in the fourteenth century, during the construction of the Cathedral of Santa María del Mar.
Antena 3 and Televisión de Cataluña broadcast with audience successes. Antena 3 achieved almost 4 million viewers with the first episode, while TV3 reached 635,000 viewers, a 28.3% share, with its premiere of the series. The eight chapters of La Catedral del Mar were set in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona.
Jordi Frades began on television on TV3, directing episodes of the soap opera Poblenou. He also participated in other series such as: Oh, Espanya! (1996-1997), El joc de viure (1997), Estació d’enllaç (1994-1999), La memòria dels Cargols (1999), Crims (2000), Jet Lag (2001-2003) and El cor de la ciutat (2005-2007).
He was successful on Spanish Television with the historical series Isabel (2011-2014), which he directed. In February 2016, his film, La corona partida, was released. It is a sequel to the series Isabel and a prequel to the series Carlos, rey emperador.
He has also directed Matadero for Antena 3 and that can currently be seen on Amazon Prime.
